Michael Cohen: Trump "Asked Me If I Could Name a Country Run by a Black Person That Wasn't a S***hole"

President Trump’s former lawyer Michael D. Cohen is currently delivering a stunning indictment of the President to the House Oversight Committee. Cohen’s opening remarks include him professing his own guilt and embarrassment for the role he played in such a hateful administration, before labeling his former boss a “racist,” a “cheat” and a “conman.”

Cohen also claims in his opening remarks that Trump knew about the pending release of Hillary Clinton’s leaked e-mails, and that Trump continued to negotiate Trump Tower Moscow long past when he previously claimed.

Cohen’s most damning claims of Trump’s character are those of his racist flare-ups behind closed doors. While the public has been able to see Trump’s bigoted beliefs play out in his handling of everything from the Central Park Five to Charlottesville, Cohen claims that “in private, he is even worse.”

Cohen continues in his opening remarks, saying, “The country has seen Mr. Trump court white supremacists and bigots. You have heard him call poorer countries ‘shitholes.’ He once asked me if I could name a country run by a black person that wasn’t a ‘shithole.’ This was when Barack Obama was President of the United States.”

Cohen had other personal anecdotes that revealed the extent of Trump’s anti-black sentiments. “While we were once driving through a struggling neighborhood in Chicago,” Cohen recalled, “he commented that only black people could live that way. And, he told me that black people would never vote for him because they were too stupid.”
