Former Trump Aide Under Investigation by Robert Mueller: “I Think That [Trump] May Have Done Something During the Election”
Photo by Chip Somodevilla/GettySam Nunberg worked on the Trump campaign, and he describes longtime Trump ally Roger Stone as a “mentor.” Nunberg has been subpoenaed to appear in front of a federal grand jury investigating Russia’s interference in the 2016 election. Nunberg sent a copy of the subpoena to The Washington Post and told WaPo “Let them arrest me. Mr. Mueller should understand I am not going in on Friday.” He told the Post that he planned to go on Bloomberg TV and rip up the subpoena. Instead, he went on MSNBC and shoved his foot as far down his throat as humanly possible. This interview is completely insane, and I strongly encourage you to watch it in full. Here are a couple highlights.
Watch: Ex-Trump campaign aide Sam Nunberg says he’s refusing comply with Mueller subpoena:
“I’m not going to cooperate when they want me to come into a grand jury for them to insinuate that Roger Stone was colluding with Julian Assange. Roger is my mentor. Roger is like family.” pic.twitter.com/jUtBCPNiDe

Watch: Former Trump campaign aide Sam Nunberg on refusing to Mueller’s subpoena request:
“I think it would be really, really funny if they wanted to arrest me because I don’t want to spend 80 hours going over emails I had with Steve Bannon and Roger Stone.” pic.twitter.com/GHS95sYzE7

And here is the money quote that is sure to enrage our commander-in-tweet.

Apparently self-immolating on MSNBC wasn’t enough, and Nunberg immediately hopped on CNN to sound definitely not paranoid while definitely not implicating the president in the special counsel’s investigation.
Do you believe that the special counsel has something on Donald Trump?

“Russia’s a witch hunt! But that’s separate from the legit thing that Mueller may have Trump nailed on!” is now the rallying cry of a man caught up in the special counsel’s probe into Russian interference in the 2016 election. Grab some popcorn folks, this is really starting to get interesting.
UPDATE: This is just getting more and more bizarre, as Sam Nunberg went on Jake Tapper’s CNN show after the previous two to see how much crazier this can get. He further implicated the president by saying about the famed Trump Tower meeting with the Kremlin-connected lawyer, “You know he knew about it. He was talking about it a week before…I don’t know why he went around trying to hide it.” Nunberg also pointed the finger at another famed idiot Trump adviser, Carter Page, saying he colluded with the Russians. This is all so insane.
