USA Forces Russian Diplomats Out of DC, NYC and San Francisco
Photo by Pool/GettyThe State Department of the United States announced today that Russia will have to close its chancery annex in Washington, DC, its consular annex in New York, and its Consulate General in San Francisco.
The move is a direct response to Russia ordering 755 US diplomats to leave its nation, which itself was a retaliation against US financial sanctions against Moscow, which was a response to the accusations of Russian meddling in the US presidential election.
In a more-than-slightly petty statement, the State Dept. said they made this decision in the “spirit of parity.”
