Trump’s Army of Failed, Racist Nincompoops Are Invading Your Local News
Photo by Alex Wong/GettyIf you’re not aware of Sinclair Broadcast Group, you should be. This company is taking Fox News-style hysterical talking points, making them less overt, then spacing them in between weather and sports throughout their local news empire—and they’re looking to expand into 72% of our living rooms. Here’s an example of the kind of bullshit that you can expect to fill the hours after Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune.
On a Sinclair station, Gorka refers to “black African crime on black African crime” & says black men are killing each other “by the bushel” pic.twitter.com/Cbtqm39tTd

That’s Sebastian Gorka—who didn’t really do anything in the White House other than smell his own farts before being pushed out—spouting off about “African on African” crime in the “streets” of America. As ridiculous as that looks, get used to him. Sinclair media is injecting people like Gorka, and his co-dropout from Trump University, Boris Epshteyn into your local newscasts.

People trust local news outlets more than national ones. This is a big, big problem and we need to address it before it really takes root. For those seeking to learn more about this sinister force pushing for near-total control of local news, John Oliver did an excellent deep dive on Last Week Tonight. For those who prefer text, this is a good article and a thread worth following to the end (click on the tweet to open the thread in a new tab).
