Write to Win a Free Trip to Belize
Photo: Michael DeFreitas/Getty“The weather is here, wish you were beautiful.” That was my dad’s go-to correspondence while he was away on various business trips, taking him around the country. When my turn to travel the world came, I found myself in dodgy souvenir shops handing coins to a clerk in exchange for my favorite token of travel: a postcard. The love people have for postcards now comes largely from feelings of nostalgia. Recognizing this, the Belize Tourism Board has launched a project encouraging Americans to pick up their pens and write, rather than post on social media or email.
The idea is for Americans to send a postcard from their hometown to the Belize Tourism Board with a short message, perhaps describing the town (according to the rules, kindly avoid rude and/or offensive messages). All postcards received by the Belize Tourism Board between now and November 9th will, in turn, receive a response from a local Belizean. One of these responses will name a winner for a free trip to Belize.
The winner will receive round-trip airfare to Belize for two people, four nights in a 3-star (or higher) hotel. All this can be yours, for only the price of a postage stamp.
