Watch the Surreal, Blood-Soaked First American Gods Trailer

Starz has released the first trailer for their ambitious new series, American Gods, and it fully embraces the craziness of the forthcoming show. We get a pretty good taste of what to expect, along with some great visuals a la Bryan Fuller’s Hannibal. There’s also a lot of blood, because that’s Fuller’s thing.

It really is a great trailer, with lots of scenery chewing by Ian McShane (who was meant for that sort of thing) as Mr. Wednesday and a nice little appearance from Crispin Glover’s Mr. World. We also get some zombies, bloody fight scenes and a corpse-ridden beach. Whatever’s going on there is pretty exciting.

American Gods premieres on Starz on April 30. Watch the trailer above.
