Watch Netflix's First Teaser for Castlevania

Konami’s vampire-slaying action-adventure classic Castlevania is getting its own animated series, and it’s coming exclusively to Netflix on July 7.

Inspired by the late 1980s series, Castlevania follows the story of the last surviving member of the Belmont Clan, a disgraced family of vampire hunters, and his quest to save Eastern Europe from the clutches of Vlad Dracula Tepe.

The newly released trailer doesn’t disappoint either, flashing back to its localized roots on the NES. After a few moments in menus, it flashes to the animated recreation and shows off its flamboyantly violent story within the dark, gritty atmosphere the series is known for.

“Who are you?”

“I am the man who will kill Dracula.”

The series is animated by none other than Frederator Studios (Adventure Time, The Fairly Odd Parents) and is written by best-selling author and comic icon Warren Ellis (Transmetropolitan, Gun Machine). Ellis joins the executive production team along with Kevin Kolde, Fred Seibert and Adi Shankar.
