Ming-Na Wen’s Fennec Shand Is a Badass in Latest The Mandalorian Trailer

Mulan and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. actress Ming-Na Wen’s character for Disney+’s The Mandalorian has been revealed.

In the latest teaser trailer for the show, Wen makes her first appearance as sharpshooting assassin Fennec Shand. Wen told Vanity Fair the role was inspired by the name: “The idea of a fennec fox came to mind. She’s tricky, and yet she’s able to maneuver and survive, and be stealthy—so very graceful and agile. I just love that whole image with the name,” she said.

In the teaser, Fennec stares down the series’ bounty hunter lead, played by Pedro Pascal, and closes out the trailer with a mysterious and daunting, “Your name will be legendary.” We also get to hear Nick Nolte voicing Kuiil, his Ugnaught character.

Wen confirmed that she would be playing a role in the fist live-action Star Wars TV series in August in an interview with Syfy at Disney’s 2019 D23 Expo, but remained secretive as to what exactly her role entailed.

The Mandalorian’s eight-episode first season launches along with Disney+ on Nov. 12.
