The Emmy-winning, HBO-exclusive Westworld is back for a third season on March 15. The 2016 Western sci-fi drama is returning with a new story and new characters to shake things up.
In the show’s new date announcement trailer, stern voiceover is coupled with monochromatic animations that cast a dystopian mood over a series of headlines, exaggerating the gray area between fiction and current events. No humans are visible in the teaser, but two things are clear: world catastrophes and dead presidents. This cryptic clip is sure to be a fraction of the drama we’ll see unfolding once the show returns March 15.
If this season lives up to expectations set by the first two seasons (which garnered a combined 42 Emmy nominations), we’ll see stellar performances from our returning favorites, and some exciting new faces.
Joining the cast this season are:
Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad, BoJack Horseman)
Vincent Cassel (Black Swan)
Lena Waithe (HBO’s A Black Lady Sketch Show, Master of None)
Scott Mescudi (HBO’s forthcoming We Are Who We Are)
Marshawn Lynch (Brooklyn Nine-Nine)
John Gallagher Jr. (HBO’s The Newsroom and Olive Kitteridge)
Michael Ealy (Stumptown)
Tommy Flanagan (Sons of Anarchy)
