Ford v Ferrari director James Mangold has confirmed his next film to be a Bob Dylan biopic, with none other than Timothée Chalamet slotted to play the folk-turned-rock musician.
The film itself is supposed to center around 1965, when Dylan controversially switched over from acoustic to electric guitar playing, with Going Electric as the current working title. But there has also been word that the film will go back to Dylan’s earliest years as a folk musician, with Pete Seeger, Joan Baez and Woody Guthrie also to be portrayed.
Mangold found critical acclaim with his 2005 music biopic Walk the Line about Johnny Cash and June Carter, earning Joaquin Phoenix an Oscar nomination and securing an Oscar win for Reese Witherspoon.
