Father John Misty Is Donating All His Merchandise Profits to RAICES This Week
Photos by Kevin Winter/GettyMany artists are doing their part to help reunite families separated at the border and to combat Donald Trump’s highly controversial immigration policies. Lin-Manuel Miranda performed a lullaby in honor of migrant families this past weekend at the Families Belong Together rally, during which Americans all over the country gathered to protest family separations. Then, Alicia Keys read a letter written by a mother who was separated from her son. Now, Father John Misty is chipping in, announcing that all profits from his web store this week will be donated to the Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services (RAICES), an organization based in Texas that’s working to reunite families and support immigrants. So if you’ve been jonesing for a God’s Favorite Customer vinyl (or lighter, or T-shirt, or cassette), now you can feel good about making your purchase. Head to the FJM web store between now and this Friday, July 6, to browse merchandise and make your contribution.
Father John Misty’s fourth album, the aforementioned God’s Favorite Customer, was released in June. You can stream it here, and check out the Paste review here. There are also some accompanying visuals, which you can watch here.
