Thundercat Shares “Innerstellar Love” From Forthcoming LP It Is What It Is

Stephen Bruner, aka Thundercat, released a single from his forthcoming LP, It is What It Is, out tomorrow (April 3) on Brainfeeder. “Interstellar Love” is one of many singles from Thundercat in recent months, and he’s almost ready to share the final project with the world.

“Interstellar Love” is a harmonic journey with contributions from Flying Lotus, Kamasi Washington and percussionist Ronald Bruner Jr. The instrumentals in this track create a quiet galaxy with Bruner’s whispering falsetto leading us through. Listening is a peaceful experience tempered by Washington’s passionate saxophone solo.

“This album is about love, loss, life and the ups and downs that come with that,” Bruner says. “It’s a bit tongue-in-cheek, but at different points in life you come across places that you don’t necessarily understand… some things just aren’t meant to be understood.”
