About the Book

Legend has it that the unexplained death of one of the five most powerful celestial monks, in full view of the others, created crippling suspicion and fear among them, finally leading to their downfall. When a real-life monk of a free-thinking Order dies of an inexplicable knife wound in front of his colleagues, the monastery is cast into an atmosphere of maniac misgivings, mutual mistrust and malignant malice. The detectives find their investigation complicated by the criminal history of the monks, bewildering secrets of the monastery, enigmatic history of the region, and unfathomable mythology of the Mountains. But the Teacher and his partner M are confident they can solve not just the murder, but all other mysteries thrown at them in the eerie Himalayan wilderness.

About the Author

A big fan of Agatha Christie’s Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple, the author yearns to bring back the Golden Age of detective fiction, with the cozy mysteries and classic whodunits. This is his modest attempt at one. He spends his time reading detective fiction and thinking up impossible ways to murder people (for his stories), among other things. He currently resides in Dunedin, New Zealand.
