Hailing from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, Arkells formed eight years ago and have since become one of Canada’s most acclaimed and successful rock bands. The 2008 debut album, Jackson Square earned the band a Juno Award for ‘New Group of the Year’. Arkells’ sophomore album, Michigan Left, brought the band to the forefront again in 2011 where they put on an electric performance at the Grey Cup in Vancouver, and shortly after, in April 2012, won the Juno Award for ‘Group of the Year’. Their latest album, High Noon, was written in Hamilton and produced by Tony Hoffer (Beck, The Kooks, M83). This collection of songs is the band's most unabashed effort yet - politically charged, heart on your sleeve lyrics combined with adventurously modern and throwback production stylings.
So sit back and Get To Know Arkells, with two tracks from each of the band’s studio albums, a surprisingly legitimate cover of Stevie Wonder's "Signed, Sealed, Delivered," and an acoustic performance of the painfully catchy "11:11" from High Noon.
