Description

DJ YNot has always had a passion for music, and in his early teen years that passion led him to begin DJing. He would get his first set of turntables in the late 90s, and within a year, found himself with his first residency at a local night club in central NJ, Packees. This is where he was able to “hone his craft”. Soon after that, he began playing different clubs throughout the tri state area, and was eventually able to secure 3 more residencies at some of the more well known venues around including, Deko Lounge, Club Platinum, Club Abyss and Dreamz. Eventually, he was sharing stages with DJs: Kid Capri, Funk Master Flex, DJ Enuff, Tony Touch and more. He was getting booked at events with Russel Simmons, Fatman Scoop, Lil Kim, The Lox, Talib Kweli and Fat Joe. But it wasn’t all about the clubs for him. In 2004, he started a radio show for Rutgers University, called “Monday Night B-Side”. Later that year, he was invited as a guest DJ for BET’s “Rapcity the Basement”, a Hip Hop television show who receives approximately 15 million viewers nationwide. He was invited back the hit show again, in 2005. DJ Ynot also partnered with the urban clothing company, Against All Odds, and worked as their staff DJ

After several years, he would eventually leave the club scene behind, but he never lost his love and passion for the art of DJing. Along with playing private parties (countless weddings, house parties, and corporate events), he began working with non profit organizations, and was DJing at large community outreach, youth and young adult events. He’s also shared the stage with artists such as Hillsong United, Lecrae, Kirk Franklin, Canton Jones, Flame, and more. Then, in 2009, DJ Ynot was invited as the official DJ for Revelation Generation’s Urgan stage. Later that year, he was named official DJ to Battlecry Greater NY Area. In 2010 he become the official DJ for Aquire The Fire, a touring concert that attracted tens of thousands each year.

DJ Ynot is still one of the tri-state’s most highly sought after DJs, and is often mixing it up for a wide variety of events. His professional attitude, ability to connect to a crowd, and his excellent taste for feel good music, keep him in demand. He continues to spin records at community events, colleges, weddings, sporting events, and private parties.
