Description
Senior Pastor Paul Meldrum has often referred to North Point Fellowship Church as a “holy community of misfits.” We are a collection of people with vastly different backgrounds and life experiences who have come together for the purpose of building up the Church of Jesus Christ to bring His message of salvation to the world. Called to Build HIS Church encapsulates the focus, theme, and body of North Point Fellowship with an eclectic yet cohesive collection of songs honoring the name of Jesus above all else.
Beginning with the driving, vertical worship anthem of the intro track “And Now, to Him,” the album delves into musical genres as varied and unique as the group of people who God gifted to write them. From the powerful melodies and honest, heartfelt lyrics of “There’s Always More,” “Dwell in My Heart,” and “’Til I Am Yours,” to the acoustic-driven grooves of “I’m Yours,” “Tall and Steady,” and “Opened Up My Heart,” the album incorporates scripture, personal experience, and joyous expression of God’s work in the lives of the contributing artists. With excerpts from sermons by Pastor Mike McDonald and Pastor Paul Meldrum, “Changed for Good” integrates non-traditional instrumentation with poignant lyrics/melodies to convey a distinctive sound and message straight from the pulpit. The summation of the album can be found in the closer and pseudo-title track, “We Were Called”:
We were called
To build Your church on higher ground
We were called
To glorify the One who’s crowned
We were called
To be the Church and lift Your name on high
NPF Worship fiercely hopes that Called to Build HIS Church is much more than just a collection of simple songs to be enjoyed. Our foremost prayer is that this music honors God, brings glory to His name, and furthers the Kingdom and Church of Jesus Christ. We also hope that these songs will encourage the listener to enter into worship of the King and experience His presence in a deeper way.
