See Arcade Fire Play The Suburbs Cut “Half Light I” Live for the First Time

Everyone has their own opinion about Arcade Fire’s most recent album, last year’s polarizing Everything Now. But there’s more of a calm consensus when it comes to their 2010 record, the boundary-pushing The Suburbs—it’s one of the Canadian band’s best releases. However, it’s not often that they dip into Suburbs material when crafting a setlist. On Thursday night at the Red Hat Amphitheater in Raleigh, N.C., though, they whipped out a few Suburbs tracks, including “Half Light I,” which they’ve never played live before. Watch the performance below.

Also during their North Carolina show, Arcade Fire played “Half Light I” pairing “Half Light II,” as well as a few—stow your pitchforks, now—songs from Everything Now, including the title track, “Put Your Money On Me” and “Electric Blue.” Classics like “Keep the Car Running” and “Reflektor” also popped up.

Arcade Fire are touring the world through September. Their next stop is this weekend’s headlining appearance at Sloss Music & Arts Festival in Birmingham, Ala. Find their complete tour schedule, as well as their latest quirky music video, right here.
