Field Medic Announces New Album light is gone 2

LA singer/songwriter Field Medic—aka Kevin Patrick Sullivan—is back with another new album entitled light is gone 2, a nod (and follow-up) to his 2015 album Light Is Gone and another notch in the prolific musician’s thrifted belt. Last fall, Sullivan released the Field Medic album Grow Your Hair Long If You’re Wanting to See Something That You Can Change, and light is gone 2 is set to arrive on September 1 via his longtime label Run For Cover Records.

Lead single “everything’s been going so well” is a tender, double-tracked digital folk tune that takes Sullivan’s love of trap beats, airy acoustic arpeggios and chopped up electric chords and packages it all beneath a gorgeous, auto-tuned vocal and looping backbeat. “Everyday feels like a memory / I’m outside my body / And can’t make out the details / Just when I think I’ve found meaning / I remember I’m the stranger / And no one really cares,” he sings. The single signals a new chapter of Field Medic, one that aims to reach out for a new sonic horizon filled with every type of melody he’s ever loved.
