Anomalie is a highly trained versatile keyboardist, producer and talk box specialist based in Montreal. His creations are infused with a combination of classical, jazz, hip hop, funk, fusion and electronic elements.
The project's creator, Nicolas Dupuis, has upwards of sixteen years of experience studying piano performance which include ten years of classical education with Yolande Gaudreau and four years of jazz lessons with Lorraine Desmarais. He is the first person to be awarded the Yannick Nézet-Séguin (Philadelphia Orchestra, Orchestre Métropolitain, Rotterdams Philarmonisch) excellence grant in 2012.
Anomalie started in April of 2012 with a series of weekly video performances shared via YouTube.
In August 2013 he released his first independent, self-titled album.
The following year, his single "Kickass Tchaikovsky" was featured on Misteur Valaire's licensing project, "Mr. Label".
In 2014, he collaborated with 19 different artists for the first season of his new YouTube series - Weekly Jams.
By capturing on video his use of orchestral elements, sound effects, synthesized instruments, and stellar keyboard performances, Anomalie has amassed an online following including some reputable industry notables.
When Anomalie hits the stage his material comes to life with energy-driven arrangements for a 4-piece band.
Anomalie is now working on his second EP, Fredy V's debut LP #ItTakesAVillage, and is an active member of Montreal's hip hop collective Urban Science, best known for its weekly jam session #LECYPHER.
