After 15 Months of Singing “Hello,” Adele May Kiss Touring Goodbye Permanently
Photo by Graham Denholm/GettyIn a handwritten letter inserted into fans’ programs during her final run of shows at Wembley Stadium in London, Adele admitted that touring “doesn’t suit [her] particularly well.” A photo of the full note was posted yesterday to an Instagram account dedicated to Adele fans.

While she stops short of outright confirming that she’ll never tour again, Adele seems very put-off by the whole thing. She claims that she only really tours for the fans—as well as, presumably, the millions and millions of dollars from ticket and merch sales.
It seems crazy to think that arguably the world’s biggest pop star would up and quit playing music live at the tender age of 29, but, then again, 123 shows in 15 months has to be extremely exhausting for a self-proclaimed “homebody,” especially one who has been known to struggle with stage fright. Given the lengthy, four-year hiatus between her 21 and 25 albums, it’s almost certain that we won’t hear much more from Adele anytime soon.
Despite all that, something tells us we’ll hear her belting “Hello” again before too much longer. Until then, hopefully Adele can get in a well-deserved rest.
