Outlander Casts David Berry as Lord John Grey

TV News Outlander

Outlander has found its Lord John Grey. The Lord will appear in season three of the Starz hit, and he’ll be played by David Berry, Variety reports.

Lord John William Grey is an upper-crust Brit who, because of his checkered past, has been forced into the role of governor at a Scotland prison. Grey is an important character in the novels upon which Outlander is based, and so his casting is particularly important as the show moves into its third season and past that point.

The show has already been renewed for two additional seasons, so Berry will definitely get a chance to fully embody the character. Thus far, Berry is largely known for his work on Australian television, appearing in the hit drama A Place to Call Home.

Through its first two seasons, Outlander has been a breakout hit for Starz. Diana Gabaldon’s eight books have provided the showrunners with plenty of adaptable fodder, so the show could run for quite awhile. Berry might want to get comfortable in his period garb—he could stay in it for years to come.
