Description

The Vineyard Collective is four singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist/best friends playing original songs by each member, trading instruments around, alternating singing melody and harmony, and generally just having a blast making music together.

This demo includes one original from each member of the band, showcasing TVC's range stylistically and lyrically. The first song in the line-up is Kristin Bond's "Favorite Season", an upbeat folky love song that celebrates the changing seasons in life and relationships. Next is Israel Bloodgood's song "Little Surprise", a revel for the ages of our lives featuring guitar and mandolin intricately dancing around each other. This leads to Cory Briar's "Pull Out", a mandolin-pop ballad about a turmoiled relationship. The heartbreak and anger in the song is mirrored by the dissonant chording and the way the instruments seem to lose each other toward the end and then find their way back again, unlike the relationship. And finally, the demo ends with TVC's most instrumental piece to date, Luke Lillard’s “Rattle Them Down”. This song was written as a testament to the way music unites and heals. Luke’s New Orleans roots shine in this song both lyrically and musically.

Enjoy! Any tips will go toward a future full length album.
